Quantum on the Bay
Quantum on the Bay is a spectacular 1.6-million square foot residential complex overlooking the Biscayne Bay, South Beach and the Miami skyline in the arts district. From the tenth floor up, two towers rising 52 and 43 stories, respectively, house 712 condos, lofts and penthouses with terraces. Lower-level amenities include an adjoining parking garage and the towers' interconnecting base level, which features 23,000 square feet of retail space and such luxuries as a wet bar, an art studio and exhibition area, a screening room with plasma TV and video equipment, a billiards room, and a gym with a sauna. Just outside, residents can enjoy two pools and a meditation garden.
Kirlin's mechanical scope involved the installation and connection of cooling towers on each roof to water source heat pumps in each residential unit, and the installation of six primary air handling units with boilers and pumping systems for conditioned air.
