NASA Earth System Science Building
Greenbelt, Maryland

NASA's Mission to Planet Earth is dedicated to understanding the total Earth system and the effects of natural and human induced changes on the global planet.
NASA is striving to discover patterns in climate. This will allow better prediction and response of environmental events, such as floods and severe weather well in advance of their occurrence. The agency's Earth Science Mission draws upon researchers from all over the world.
The 237,000 square foot facility is a 4-story laboratory and office housing over 700 personnel. The project includes 18 class 1,000and 10,000 clean rooms and 43,000 square feet of raised floor space for a computer center that includes super computers performing atmospheric research. We installed specialized air conditioning systems that support these spaces. This high technology facility also includes 48,000 square feet laboratory space with specialty gases and precise temperature control for experiments.
