This addition to one of Washington's largest health care facilities provided the hospital with a state-of-the-art facility for its world-renowned cardiac care unit and added 18 operating room suites. The project added two wings and 200 beds to the hospital center, encompassing 250,000- square-feet in a four-story building.
Operating rooms and cardiac care unit feature state-of-the-art medical gas and pressurization systems to provide comprehensive patient care options.
An ambitious mechanical installation was completed according to comprehensive health and safety requirements. In addition to the new construction, Kirlin participated in the renovation of existing attachment areas to ensure total systems quality in the new addition. The mechanical services for the new wings had to be routed to travel from a new, remote power plant and through the existing facility before reaching their destination.
Construction on the property was carefully coordinated to prevent any disruption to on-going hospital and administrative services.
