Capability and adaptability was put to the test when Kirlin was brought on board in mid-project to complete the full mechanical construction package on the 210,000 square foot medical facility.
The three story structure is a full service hospital with 102 patient rooms and six operating rooms, including one "Systo OR", used primarily for emergency childbirth.
The fast track project had a 14-month construction schedule. Despite joining the project when a significant percentage of other construction work had been completed Kirlin successfully coordinated its work in order to finish the mechanical package on time and on budget.
The hospital's mechanical package included three 400-ton chillers, two 250-hp boilers and a complex medical gas system. The projects scope included all HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting, and sheet metal work.
