U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters
United States

Kirlin has been awarded the plumbing and mechanical subcontract for the construction of the new U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters. The new Coast Guard Headquarters is a 1.2 million square foot facility, located on the west campus of the former St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. It will be one of the largest design-build projects ever constructed in Washington, DC.
The campus will feature an 11-story office building that will house almost 4,000 employees, a separate central utility plant and two 7-story parking garages. Kirlin will design and build the plumbing and mechanical systems for the core and shell, as well as the interior fit-out. This project is the first phase of the Department of Homeland Security’s consolidation and relocation to southeast Washington, DC.
The project is being designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
