Completed in a phased, four-year process the expansion of the Pinellas County Criminal Courts Facility included 274,000 square feet of new construction and 146,000 square feet of retrofit construction.
The four-story 420,000 square foot structure includes court room and office space along with temporary prisoner holding facilities and an employee cafeteria.
The comprehensive mechanical package included plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, pipe fitting, and water treatment work. The building's HVAC system features three chillers totaling 1200 tons, 700 vav boxes, 41 air handling units, DDC control units, seven chilled water pumps, and four condensed water pumps all with VFD controls.
Plumbing systems include conventional cast iron waste, vent piping, and copper domestic water piping, which is served by 650 fixtures.
