Defense Media Activity Headquarters and Media Production Center

In accordance with the Department of Defense's Base Realignment and Closure Act of 2005, the Defense Media Activity (DMA) now communicates with civilian employees as well as active and retired U.S. forces worldwide from a centralized headquarters rather than from its three former locations in the National Capital Region and Texas.
The state-of-the-art, 185,000 square foot new DMA complex consists of a three-story media and administrative building; high-bay television studios and associated television production control rooms; audio narration booths and on-air radio broadcasting studios; multipurpose video and graphics editing studios; and other facilities to support the public affairs and broadcast missions of the agency. The DMA headquarters is situated on a 26.1 acre site near the Defense Information School.
The DMA facility is equipped with three Centrifugal Chillers, one Heat Exchanger, two separators, seven Air Handling Units, nine rooftop units (RTUs), Chilled and Hot Water Pumps, three Natural Gas Boilers, two Natural Gas Water Heaters, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for the three Stainless Cooling Towers, a Booster Pump, Exhaust Fans, Humidifiers and 168 VAV boxes.
