This fast track project was completed in 120 days as a design-build contract. We began pipe fabrication from 65% design drawings and within 7 days of contract award.
This project was pre-fabricated to an 80% level and shipped from our Rockville, Maryland location to Atlanta, Georgia. We worked in partnership with the engineer to accomplish system design and constructability prior to installation.
This high technology communication facility for Internet web hosting was constructed in an existing two-floor 88,000 square foot building. The majority of the mechanical equipment was pre-purchased by others and installed by John J. Kirlin, Inc. The mechanical system included 96 computer room air handling units, seven 400-ton air cooled rotary screw chillers, three system pumping packages and four 12,000 gallon fuel oil tanks with distribution piping.
Our contract also included fabrication and erection of a structural steel platform to support the seven air-cooled chillers, pump packages and two chilled water storage tanks. The success of the project was due to early planning and fast decision making by the owner, designers and contractors.
