Kirlin was selected by Intel based on a qualifications only basis to team with Lockwood Greene to complete this highly secure facility. The project was completed in 100 days.
The facility represents an adaptive reuse of a former 75,000 square-foot warehouse building. The building engineering systems were designed for N + 1 service level. Our systems included a large chilled water plant with a 15,000 gallon storage tank as well as 30 computer room air conditioning units. We were also responsible for structural steel reinforcement of the building to support our piping and owner equipment requirements.
Intel is known for its experience in completing large scale manufacturing operations that include intensive mechanical systems. We are proud to receive a productivity award from Intel for our pipe fabrication speed and quality. This award is based on completing welded pipe fabrication within (1) one day from notice to proceed and with only 30% construction drawings. The award also considered that substantial completion of all thermal hydronic systems were installed and ready for commissioning ahead of schedule. The entire project was completed within 2% of budget.
