One of the nation's largest correctional facilities, this 940,000-square-foot prison accommodates an inmate population of 3,543 in 1,974 cells.
Exacting coordination efforts were required to ensure timely completion of the unique seven-sided 16-story high rise structures. These four state-of-the-art buildings include complete kitchen and dining facilities, administrative offices, recreation areas, a laundry and central utility plant in addition to the prison.
Mechanical work on the building included construction of a central plant containing two centrifugal chillers and three boiler units to distribute chilled and heated water throughout the project to typical and multi-zone air handling units. Heat recovery units were also installed at the penthouse levels to function as economizers for the complex.
