United Parcel Service Corporate Headquarters

The new corporate headquarters facility for United Parcel Service consists of a multiple building complex consisting of three adjoining office buildings and two detached parking structures. Constructed on a fast-track schedule, the project was completed in 17 months.
The project features class-A executive office space, open workstation areas, teleconferencing and meeting facilities, computer centers, communication facilities, a health club and laundry, auditorium and theater space, and a large, full-service kitchen and dining facility.
A central cooling plant provides hot and chilled water for space condifioning, domestic hot water supply and emergency power generation. The entire facility is controlled by an advanced direct digital control system that performs environmental, as well as some life safety functions.
The mechanical package included the complete plumbing and HVAC installation, along with new natural gas service for the central plant and kitchen. The HVAC system consists of VAV air distribution with electric reheat.
Unique staging and material handling and storage requirements were employed to accommodate the project's wooded, rolling site which provides added privacy for the owner.
