Two Independence Square
Washington, DC

Developed to house the Washington offices of the National Aeronautical Space Administration, this 750,000 square foot office building featured many specialized construction requirements to satisfy the specific requirements of the tenant.
Sound control was a critical concern in all areas of the nine-story building, mandating careful selection of all mechanical components and precise installation. Among the project's special features were hightech computer room areas, conference rooms, recording studios, and separate systems for back-up and 24-hour operations. A perimeter heat pump system, consisting of console units and interior core SCUs, services the building.
The project was completed on a fast-track basis to permit early occupancy of the building. To accommodate the accelerated schedule, the base building, fit-out design and 100 percent tenant fitout were accomplished simultaneously.
