Portals Office Complex
Washington DC

The Portals is a mixed use project representing the last major urban renewal project to be constructed on sites in southwest Washington, DC.
This monumental project is also the largest mixed-use project offered to date by the D.C. Redevelopment Land Agency, the District government's key development arm.
Kirlin was responsible for the Phase II construction totaling more than 600,000 square feet. The headquarters of the Federal Communications Commission occupies this portion of the project.
The building's mechanical system was constructed for the development of a leading-edge data center. The HVAC infrastructure includes a "system plus system" N + 1 redundancy.
We installed two 880-ton and one 400-ton chillers serving four custom built air-handling units within the penthouse.
