This facility was developed on the last available site at the highest profile intersection in Bethesda, 7501 Wisconsin Avenue, NW.
The 15 story twin structural steel towers comprises 750,000 square feet, as well as a 750,000 square foot underground parking garage for over 2000 cars.
The building's HVAC system employs an energy saving cooling system that makes ice at night while energy rates are lower, the resulting chilled water is circulated through the building to cool the air, limiting the need to operate chillers during costlier peak day time hours. The ice building plant includes three 800-ton chillers and 52 ice storage tanks.
The floor space includes office space, conference rooms, boardroom, executive offices, kitchens, a cafeteria, private dining rooms and training rooms. In addition we were responsible for computer data center space that included six computer room AC units. This 24/7 operation handles financial transactions on a continuous basis.
A unique part of this development was relocating one of the most visible and acclaimed professional regional theaters in the country, The Round House Theatre, to this headquarters complex.
