An ambitious renovation project converted a vacant warehouse in downtown Baltimore for use as an advanced biotechnology facility.
The six-story, 196,000-square-foot facility houses research laboratories, wet-laboratory facilities, core service laboratories, training laboratories, a unique clinical research outpatient core and business & development services. The state-of-the-art research building features a complex mechanical installation, including complete HVAC, plumbing and process piping.
The project required 250,000 feet of pipe, three chillers, three cooling towers, some 75 laboratory hoods, and a total deionized water system.
