The Orlando International Airport's Airside #2 terminal consists of sixteen gates, and a beautiful 319,000 square foot area for passengers to walk about. The contract value for Kirlin on this project was about 11.5 million dollars.
Each gate has the capability to cool the aircraft while at the gate using a 22 degree Glycol solution, which is produced by three reciprocating chillers. The terminal side is cooled by three centrifugal chillers. Both the glycol and the chill water system use common condenser water from a tower which is located half a mile away. All of the terminals plumbing fixtures turn themselves on and off automatically.
