Robert W. BaconPresident and Chief Executive Officer
Rob Bacon has been with Kirlin for more than thirty years. Rob began his career at the company as an estimator. He then served as a project manager and senior project manager. In 1984, Rob opened the Carolinas office and steadily built up the office for the next twenty years. In 2004, Rob took over as President of Kirlin Mid-Atlantic and in 2006, he began his tenure as President and CEO of The Kirlin Group. Rob is a member of the Washington Building Congress Board of Directors, a Director of the MCAA Maryland Industry Fund and is a member of the World President's Organization.
Kevin M. WalshChief Operating Officer
Kevin achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction from Virginia Tech, and holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School at Chapel Hill. He has 19 years of construction project management and executive operations experience. Kevin is a construction engineering professional with domestic and international project management experience, with focus in the Design-Build and EPC market sector. Relevant skills include project planning and EPC execution of complex power, heavy civil, commercial, and industrial projects. His knowledge includes pre-construction planning, engineering management, material lay-down and logistics control, equipment and workforce utilization. At the height of his construction career in the field, Kevin managed projects ranging from $50M to over $1.5B in a variety of market sectors.
Kevin was the former COO of Industrial Piping Inc. He was responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the $125M+ organization covering all engineering, construction, fabrication, and design/build activity. Kevin recruited key Presidents to the IPI staff and aggressively grew their fabrication business. Kevin established a welding business for IPI and turned it from a zero to $50-$60M business unit, and counting. Kevin built strong relationships with financial institutions and grew IPI’s line of credit significantly. Kevin joined IPI after a seven-year tenure with Shaw Group where he left as the Executive VP overseeing their Fabrication and Modular construction business, both domestically and globally. In 2012, Kevin was chosen by Shaw Group’s Chairman and CEO to lead a company-wide culture-changing initiative to drive out inefficiencies and instill operational excellence for all business-critical activities. During this initiative, Kevin was able to uncover $100M in bottom line savings within his first 3-4 months, and he created a framework for each business unit to analyze, understand, and improve their overall performance.
Kevin has traveled the world extensively for his assignments to places like Asia, Africa, the Middle East, former Soviet Republics, Europe, and Central and South America. He also managed a large Design-Build project in the politically unstable country of Haiti.
Charles O. BurlewPresident, Kirlin Builders, LLC
Charlie Burlew has nearly 30 years’ experience in the construction field and in 2015 began his 20th year with Kirlin Builders. Charlie began his career with Kirlin Builders in 1995 as company Controller. He then became a Vice President, Senior Vice President, and currently is President of Kirlin Builders. Charlie has a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Before beginning his career with Kirlin Builders, Charlie was a master plumber. He is a member of both the Construction Financial Management Association and the Society of Military Engineers.
Ceven CullensPresident, National Fire Protection, LLC
Ceven Cullens became President of National Fire Protection, LLC after a 40-plus year career in the fire protection and fire life safety industry. Ceven has served in project management and executive management for prominent, nationally known fire protection contractors and has managed work throughout the United States. During his career, Ceven has expanded existing business operations and also has established new “greenfield” offices, overseeing a workforce in excess of 400 employees. Ceven’s management experience ranges from traditional office and high-rise construction, to hospitals and pharmaceuticals, to manufacturing and industrial plants, and even includes a space shuttle launch site. Ceven is also experienced in a number of specialty fire protection systems and technologies. Ceven earned his mechanical certificate from Penn State University, and he is Nicet II certified and Six Sigma Light certified. He is also active in a number of industry and community organizations.
David DargenzioPresident, Kirlin Mechanical Services, LLC
Upon graduating from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, David started his 30-year construction career in Pittsburgh, PA as an Applications Engineer for Johnson Controls. David progressed from various sales and construction management positions with companies such as Carrier/UTC. He then navigated into the mechanical service contracting industry, eventually rising into senior management in 1998 as a Corporate Vice President. David has served on the Board of Directors for two of his employers, and has attended over 20 industry training classes held by Carrier/UTC, Honeywell, Barber Coleman, and Johnson Controls, with sales training by Dale Carnegie & Sandler Schools.
Kevin S. DisotellePresident, Kirlin Mid-Atlantic, LLC
Kevin has dedicated his entire career to the mechanical contracting industry. Upon graduating from the University of Kentucky, he accepted a position with a mechanical contractor in Southern California before joining Kirlin in 1994 and becoming an integral member of the Kirlin Florida operations for over 17 years. Kevin progressed from Project Engineer to Vice President before he assumed overall responsibility for the Florida west coast operations and running Kirlin’s Tampa office. In 2006, Kevin obtained his (Florida) Certified Mechanical Contractors license and is currently the primary mechanical license holder for the Florida Operations.
In 2011, Kevin transferred to Kirlin Carolinas as Senior Vice President responsible for managing the daily operations in the North and South Carolina offices. In 2013, Kevin assumed a larger role as Executive Vice President of Kirlin Mid-Atlantic and in July 2015, was promoted to President of Kirlin Mid-Atlantic. As such, Kevin is responsible for the overall operations of Kirlin’s largest business unit, which installs more than $250 million of work annually.
Kevin has the distinction of being the only employee in the history of the Kirlin organization to have served in all three mechanical companies in an upper management capacity. Kevin's lengthy and diverse experience in the mechanical construction industry and within The Kirlin Group makes him uniquely qualified to lead Kirlin Mid-Atlantic.
Anthony FritzPresident, Kirlin Florida, LLC
Anthony Fritz joined Kirlin Florida, LLC bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in the commercial plumbing/mechanical and environmental industries, Anthony’s career began in the trade as a plumbing apprentice and as a licensed union plumber. He then moved from the field into project management. Anthony has spent over 20 years as an executive-level manager overseeing high-profile projects - most notably Healthcare and Biomedical Research work - in all facets of the plumbing and mechanical industries. Anthony is certified in a number of industry specialties, including plumbing design and construction management. He is active in a number of industry trade associations and serves as a board member for the PACC and PHACC.
Glenn A. GrahamPresident, Kirlin Carolinas, LLC
Glenn Graham lends the experience he gained throughout his 30-year career in the Carolinas to Kirlin Carolinas, LLC. Glenn started out as a mechanic and worked his way up to superintendent, project manager and then manager and principle of several mechanical companies. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Construction Management from East Carolina University and Doctorate in Technology Management with a specialization in Construction Management from Indiana State University. Glenn holds 10 mechanical licenses in six states. Under Glenn's leadership, Kirlin Carolinas is active in Carolinas LEAN Construction Institute and the North Carolina Healthcare Engineers Association.
Doug MakosyPresident, Kirlin Design Build, LLC
Doug Makosy is President of Kirlin Design Build, LLC. Doug has over twenty-five years of design-build experience in both the public and private sectors, including more than twenty years in the Mid-Atlantic region. He has procured and managed many of the largest federal design-build projects in the Mid-Atlantic region in the past fifteen years. Doug is responsible for managing the in-house engineering staff as well as all construction operations for Kirlin Design Build Group. Doug earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami and a Masters of Business from the University of Maryland.
